Five easy ways to jumpstart your metabolism every morning

The faster your metabolism is, the more calories you torch all day and the easier it is to lose weight. Having a high metabolism can also boost you energy and make you feel better.

Here are five easy ways to boost your metabolism:

Eat protein-packed breakfast

Breakfast is the fuel that gets your metabolic machine started for the day. Your metabolism burns more calories digesting protein compared to fat or carbs.

Eating protein has also been proved to help you feel more full and prevent you from binge eating.

Do a high-intensity workout

High-intensity interval training (HIIT) can help you burn more fat than steady cardio by elevating your metabolic rate, even after your workout has finished. This can be done by changing the intensity of your workout throughout your exercise session- like alternating between walking and jogging.

Incorporate strength training

Weight training can rev up your metabolism. Muscle is metabolically active tissue, which means your body must consume energy to maintain it. That’s to say, the more muscle you have, the more calories you’ll burn even after you finish your workout session.

Eat five small meals throughout the day

You might think you should eat less often if you want to lose weight, but that’s just not the case. By eating every few hours, you keep your metabolism humming and ward off hunger.

Eat five small, healthy meals through the day. Frequent snacking, as long as it's healthy, can also stabilize your blood sugar and energy levels, making restricting your calorie intake more manageable.

Caffeine

Studies show that the caffeine in coffee can boost the rate at which your body burns calories. If you are not  a fan of coffee, try green tea. Antioxidants green tea contains can increase your energy expenditure and thus the amount of calories you burn.
